Recently a few of us had the opportunity to stay at Hotel Ivy downtown. The lobby and rooms were decorated beautifully. My friend commented that she would love her bedroom to have the “hotel feel.” I completely agree, there is something fabulous about a posh hotel room! The color palette needs to be soothing to you, warm tones and lots of lush fabrics. I always start each room with an inspiration piece.
In this case, it was a square textile from a previous Interior Design project that I used to upholster a side chair. I love the fabric so much that the entire room transformed around it. Next thing you know, it's like staying at a fabulous hotel…with a little more dust and a pile of clothes on the floor.
