office envy
ARCHITECTURAL | Transformation.
Every time I step back into this building I feel a little giddy. Experiencing a vision come to life is the best feeling.
We remodeled the entire first floor. Demo'd the left side of the first floor, opened it up and created new spaces: lounge, sitting area alcoves, large training room, ADA restroom, and open break room.
I'm back here working on the upper levels to keep the classic modern vibe going.

plan b
Winter fatigue.
That's a good way to describe how we're all feeling in Minnesota these days.
This past weekend we had a huge spring blizzard keeping most of us stuck at home. Making chili, drinking wine, playing hide-and-go-seek, play dough, and hanging outside in the snow. Definitely Plan B.
More snow in the forecast for this week. We live in the deep-freeze from November through April (that's half of the year folks!) It's Minnesota and I'm used to this, but let me tell you, the spring fever is cray-zeeee!
We're all in it together. Doing what we can to stay motivated and make the most of this time of year. Sunshine helps.
Similarly when working through interior design phases, flexibility is key to a smooth project. I've found that Plan B sometimes IS the best.

b4 and after: tech company
When CSI Onsite tech company outgrew their space, they met with Sienna Lynn Studio to design a new office build-out that reflects their culture and re-branding.
Out with the old tall cubicles, and terra cotta color scheme, and onto a larger space that's open, light, and 'techy'.
Their new office is created with an open plan, lots of windows and natural light, lower walls with frosted glass above, new break room and private offices with barn doors for design and transparency. Other details include alabaster white walls with gray tones and bright branded-blue accents, lower workstations, and custom signage.

We stayed busy working on lots of office interiors in 2017. Each office is tailored to the unique style of the business and brand.
I'll try to post a few 'before and afters' here each month.
Some are remodels and others are new build-outs. Thanks to all of our great clients past, present, and future... we will continue to create many more custom-designed interiors in 2018!
Sienna Lynn Studio designed a new shared office space for two businesses.
The space features customized private offices based on individual needs, a new conference room, and a reception with beverage area.
Original modern art throughout is bright and bold against the light walls.

reception
Two recent remodels received new custom reception desks. Commercial spaces must meet ADA requirements for heights and transaction counters, but many features are customizable.
Both work well functionally and aesthetically in their new spaces. Congrats to Northern Elite and Mortgages Unlimited on your new offices!

office makeover
Our recent office make-over showcases how updating a workspace design to align with the company brand creates positive results...mentally and physically!
All new furniture, paint, and artwork.
We started with lighter walls and custom furniture, including sit-to-stand desks for all employees. There are significant physical health benefits with adding sit-to-stand desks into offices.
(See article: https://www.huffingtonpost.com/thomas-b-trafecanty/the-benefits-and-consider_b_9996782.html)
Also, incorporating art into the workspace has proven emotional benefits including stress reduction.
(See article: https://mic.com/articles/106504/science-shows-that-art-is-having-fantastic-effects-on-our-brains-and-bodies#.YemXGgoN5)
There are so many factors that contribute to well-being and efficiency in the work environment. Design affects so much!

details. function. beauty
Thrilled with the results of the new build-out for a financial management group! Sienna Lynn Studio was challenged with creating a beautiful, functional office design in a new, smaller space. With this new footprint, design is definitely in the details.
During construction:
...After!
Design Goals:
Maintaining efficiency in every square foot, while achieving transparency and light throughout the office. This was achieved not only with finishes and lighting, but in the architectural plans with a large window into the conference room, low walls in main areas, side-lights at each private office, and glass panels between workstations to allow natural light to filter through the interior.
Finish Palette:
Alabaster white, medium gray tones, and branded green accents come together with tailored, classic modern lines.
Furniture:
All new, custom furniture selected and designed for maximum function. Overhead storage, mesh-back chairs, and sit-to-stand desks provide flexibility and health benefits.
Accents:
Artwork from the clients' collection is showcased throughout, including colorful contemporary paintings and a commissioned Charlie Brown statue. In addition, a large custom metal "W" logo is featured, and a coat rack from local furniture designer Blu Dot stands in the reception area.
